| Simon Parker studied the clarinet on the performers’ course at the London College of Music under the direction of Peter Thompson. While at college he gained valuable experience as a chamber musician playing in a variety of ensembles. On leaving college he has continued his studies with David
Campbell. Simon now devotes his time between teaching and performing. His teaching includes St Gabriel's
and Downe House Schools (Newbury) and Pinewood School
near Oxford. He performs regularly as a soloist and with the Helicon Ensemble, and has recently formed
"LiquoriceStix", a clarinet quartet based in Wiltshire. |
| Simon
Trentham plays cello principally for The Garden Opera Company, touring widely in the UK each Summer. He also plays in many chamber ensembles and with these he has appeared in many music societies and festivals in England and also given concerts in Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia and Kenya. He studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Scuola di Alto Perfezzionamento di
Saluzzo, Italy where he was awarded a scholarship for his postgraduate studies and a chamber music course. Teachers have included David Smith, Elizabeth Wilson and Mikhal
Kaznowski. He currently teaches for the Junior Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has also done so for the Royal Academy of Music. He plays a 'cello by Stefan Krattenmacher of
1999. |
| Gilmour Macleod
studied the piano at Trinity College of Music under Antony Lindsey and Christine
Croshaw. During his studies he won the John Longmire Beethoven competition and the chamber music prize. He was also awarded the performance diploma and postgraduate certificate. He gave recitals at St. Martin-in-the-Fields and St. John’s Smith Square where he also performed the Grieg Piano Concerto. Other venues included the Derby Guildhall Theatre where he performed regularly giving both solo recitals and in partnership with the clarinettist Simon Parker.Since leaving college Gilmour has concentrated on playing chamber music with a variety of London based ensembles and performing regularly with the Helicon Ensemble. He also enjoys other musical activities including choir leading, accompanying and teaching. |

Rachel Rowntree graduated from King’s College Cambridge and completed her academic study in 2003, graduating from the Courtauld Institute of Art with a Masters in Classical Art History. Rachel has performed Vaughan William’s The Lark Ascending, Saint Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Barber’s Violin Concerto and Dvorak’s Romance. She has also given recitals in St. Brides, Mary-le-Strand, The National Portrait Gallery, the Cambridge Summer Music Festival and Buscot House. Rachel has been a member of Southbank Sinfonia and works with the
Philharmonia. Rachel has also studied baroque violin with Oliver Weber and Tasilo
Erdhart, performing with the Britten Pears Baroque Orchestra, Charivari
Agreable, Drama per Musica, and the Diapson Ensemble.
